Peer Response to Dawson (Blog 2)

For this response I have focused on Dawson’s post on Pedagogy.

Great blog post Dawson! I enjoyed your thoughts about teaching as an art form, the comparison of students to paint and instructors to brushes was a great analogy. I also liked your thoughts on behaviorism and how student’s behavior is shaped by environmental consequences, the quality of instruction in online learning, and the importance of student’s contribution to a learning environment through engagement. I’ll elaborate on behaviorism in online learning: I think that feedback systems (like quizzes or peer reviews) can really reinforce positive learning habits and behaviors, because quick feedback is a motivator for many. As for the quality of learning, I think that teachers can use different mulitmedia modes such as podcasts and videos to cater to different learning preferences, and provide more engaging learning experiences. Thanks!
